At Get ConnectEd, we recognize all students are infinitely capable and intelligent, and regardless of background or circumstance, should be prepared for and have an opportunity to attend college or some post secondary institution. The mission of Get ConnectEd is to prepare students for life after high school by connecting them to information on various colleges and universities, majors, and careers; to help students gain acceptance to colleges and universities; and to ensure students are given every opportunity to excel in college and career.
At Get ConnectEd, we believe that going to college or some post secondary institution is a natural next step for students after their K-12 schooling. We encourage students to take control of the college planning process and develop a mindset that post secondary education is a realistic goal. We view the college search as an experience that leads to opportunities for growth, exploration, and adventure. We believe students should begin to think about higher education long before they enter 9th grade to ensure they are on the path for success in high school, college, and career.

She is committed to providing college resources for youth in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area and helps students see college as an attainable goal. With a heart to help and a belief that every child should have the opportunity to pursue post-secondary education, her Ethnic Youth College Fair puts students on the right path to get them interested and prepared to go to college. Each year, more than fifty (50) college recruiters provide information on college admissions, financial aid, academic disciplines, and other information important to the selection process. Many college recruiters at our fairs conduct on-site admissions, waive application fees, and offer scholarships to prospective students. With the support from the community, professional school counselors, students, parents, and Get ConncectEd volunteers, The Ethnic Youth College Fair has been a great success.
